Sectarian Violence Rocks Towns In Rakhine State

News coming out of Myanmar says sectarian violence between the Moslems and Rakhines at the Myanmar-Bengladesh town of Maungdaw.

News reports say shots were fired when mobs tried to set fire to some houses near the Maungdaw Town Hall and that there are some casualties and fatalities.

The Myanmar President’s Office website had appealed for calm and announced that all neccessary measures are being taken to deal with the situation.
