Update Situation of Arakan State Violence

24^th October 2012

7:30- Zailla fara (paithey) of Kyauktaw Township was burnt down, 5 mosques were burnt by militia 5 innocent Rohingyas were shot dead on the spot.

7:50- entire Rohingya villages in Mye Bone were burnt down, while telephone communication were cut off in Rohingya areas in Pauktaw township.

23^rd October 2012

19 :30 - All Phones lines are cut off Kyauk Phyu ,Myay Bone, Min Bya and Mrauk Oo towns of Arakan State.

16:50-Rakhine Buddhists, Police forces and Security Forces set fire Nagara Pauktaw village ,Min Bya Township.100 Rohingya’s houses burnt down. Police forces provided to Rakhine big container of Petrol to burn down Rohingya’s houses.

17:15- Rakhine Buddhists and Police forces set fire Creek Taung Rohingya village, Min Bya Township. More than 170 Rohingya’s houses burnt down and 8 Rohingyas killed by security forces.

17:30- Rakhine Buddhists  set fire Hantha Rohingya village, Min Bya Township. More than 200 Rohingya’s houses burnt down. Police forces provided to Rakhine big container of Petrol to burnt down Rohingya’s houses.

8:55 am – Rakhine Buddhists, Police Forces and Security Forces burnt down at Least 250 houses at Yin Thae Village, Mrauk Oo Township. Deputy Township Police Officer U Tha Zan Police forces provided to Rakhine big containers of Petrol to burn down Rohingya’s houses.

22nd October 2012

23:00- Kyauk Phyu Township-the two mosques of Anauk Paikseik (West Fishing village) and Arashi Quarter set fire and the fences were burnt down. The government authorities followed to the scene and arrested the Mosque imam. Government authorities accused that the Kaman Muslims themselves set fire the mosques.

7:30 –353 house burnt down By Rakhine and Buddhist monks in Pan Myaung (Thaya Ote village), Minbya Township

10:40 –100 houses were burnt down in Parin Village, Minbya Township.

14:15 - 150 houses burnt down in Aung Dine Village, Minbya Township. Security forces and 5 Rohingya injured 2 Rohingya dead.

16:00- at least 2000 Rakhine and Buddhist Monks surrounded to burn ward 3 and ward 4 in Pauktaw Town

16:30-at Least 2500 Rakhine and Buddhist Monks surrounded kaung tone village, Mrauk Oo.

18:00- Tora, Falsa and Zolia villages are still burning in Mrauk Oo Township.

21st October

10:00- 10 Rohingya girls were raped by Military Officer Arkar Laing groups in Nyang Bin Gyi Village, Rathadaung Township.

11:00- Military and Rakhine security Forces raped 16 Rohingya girls in Nyang Bin Gyi Village, Rathedaung.

11:30 - 40 houses burnt down in Pai Thae Village Minbya Township. Security forces fired and 10 Rohingyas injured, 1 dead.
